Changes to your online security

We're making banking online even more secure

What's happening?

Later this year, a new regulation is being introduced. It's called Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) and it's designed to increase online security and reduce fraud. Other banks and building societies are also making changes to comply with the regulation.

Does this affect me?

If you use Online Services, then yes.

We'll be changing the way you log in and manage your accounts so you'll need new online security details. We'll let you know more nearer the time and guide you through the process step by step.

Do I need to do anything now?

Know your security details

If you don't log in regularly, check you can log in to Online Services with your current security details.

Check your personal details

Make sure your phone numbers and email address are up to date.

How do I check I'm ready?

What happens next?

We'll contact you nearer the time to tell you about the changes and guide you through them step by step. You'll still be able to manage your accounts online and over the phone as usual, but the way you do it online will be different.

It's all part of making banking online even more secure.

Take care

Although these changes are designed to keep you safer than ever before, we know that fraudsters sometimes use times of change to trick customers into sharing their private banking details. We've designed the whole process to be really secure and reassuring, but if you receive any communications about your Coventry Building Society details or account that make you suspicious or just don't feel right, it's always best to check.
