We care about making life better for everyone. That’s not just for our members and colleagues, but for the communities around us.

Partnering with schools and charities, we offer support and create positive change for those who need it most. Our goal is clear. We want to help people of all ages gain the confidence and skills they need to manage money and build a secure future.

That’s why for 2026, we’ve committed £1.2 million to support our home city of Coventry. This donation will support more than 100 organisations, including:

  • Primary and secondary schools
  • Youth groups
  • Foodbanks
  • Social supermarkets
  • Services for the elderly
  • A range of charities.

Supporting better futures

Over a third of our donation will go to local schools and youth charities.

We love working with young people. And it’s our ambition to help give them the skills and support they need to succeed in the future. Our programme for schools:

  • Helps more kids to read, write and use numbers
  • Builds aspiration and employability skills
  • And above all, grows confidence.

Our funding will continue to help talented teachers in our region bring budgeting lessons to life too. This makes learning about money engaging for every child.

Coventry Youth Hub

The Coventry Youth Hub officially opened its doors in March 2024. The aim of the hub is a simple one – it provides a safe space for young people dealing with homelessness in the city. £250,000 of our donation will go the Hub, to help St Basil's continue its vital work to provide:

  • Advice and guidance
  • Practical support for everyday life
  • Tools to plan for a brighter future.

Making better foundations in Coventry and beyond

We’ve been working with the Citizens Advice in Coventry for over 15 years. Our support has helped the local charity give advice on a large range of issues. This has included:

  • Welfare rights
  • Debt advice
  • Housing issues
  • Consumer rights.

We’re pleased that £225,000 of our donation will go to this cause. And we’ll be supporting other local advice centres in the area too.

We’re also making sure some of our donation also goes to food banks. With the cost of living seemingly always on the rise, we know how difficult it is for some families to put food on the table. A problem that often gets worse during the winter months. While most of our donation will focus on local food banks in Coventry, we provide additional funding for our branches to support their local food bank too.

By combining local and national action, we can make sure our support reaches the people who need it most.

A lasting commitment to Coventry

Coventry is home to amazing organisations. They provide help and support to our local people and do great work every day. We are proud to stand alongside them.

Our aim is to change lives for the better. We want to provide support and create more opportunity. We want to build strong and long-lasting partnerships. And we want to help make a real difference in the world.
