Fake websites can look just like the real thing
Similar to fraudulent emails, fake websites appear to be the genuine webpages for an organisation such as your bank, building society, HM Revenue & Customs or a service such as PayPal, eBay or iTunes.
The URL will be similar to the real organisation, usually with a slight spelling error or extra words or symbols.
Fraudsters set up fake websites to try to encourage you to give away personal information and/or your security details.
