Whether you talk to us at a branch, call us or use Online Services, here's how we keep your money and details secure.

Your security details are unique to you

We give you unique security details so you can access your accounts over the phone and with Online Services.

These details may include: password, Grid Card, Telephone PIN and Web ID.

We never ask for your security details in full

To keep your security details safe and secure, we never ask for your full password.

We only ever ask for three characters from your password and your Grid Card.

Extra ways to check our website is genuine

Every time you log in, you'll see the date and time you previously logged in, and an image you've chosen.

We use SSL technology to encrypt information

We only ever use secure web pages when you enter personal details - we use 'Secure Socket Layers' (SSL) to encrypt information you type so it can't be intercepted when you submit it to us.

Look out for the padlock symbol in your browser bar.

We'll block access to your accounts

If your details are entered incorrectly three consecutive times, we'll temporarily block access to your accounts online and over the phone. 

You can reset your password online or by post.

When you log in to Online Services, we'll offer you this software as a free download. 

Rapport protects against online fraud and identity theft. It works alongside your anti-virus software and firewall.
