What is an EPC?
An EPC is an official document that measures your property's energy efficiency. It shows:
- Energy efficiency rating: A scale from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient)
- Estimated energy costs: How much you’ll spend on heating, lighting and powering the property
- Carbon emissions: An indication of the property’s environmental impact
- Tips to save energy: Simple ideas to make your home greener and cheaper to run.
You’ll need an EPC if you’re selling, renting or building a property. Your certificate will be valid for 10 years.
How does it work?
- The property must have a valid EPC rating of A,B or C. We'll verify this during the process using the the official government EPC register.*
- If you're buying a new build, we’ll need to see the Predicted Energy Assessment (PEA).
- Eligible products will be clearly marked with 'EPC A-C' on our website.
- These products are available for purchase and remortgage applications only.
