You must keep your Security Details secret.
Your Security Details are your Web ID, passwords and memorable words. If you provide this information to any other website you must be aware that someone else could have access to it.
- Never let anyone know your Security Details. Never share them, even with a joint account holder.
- Never write your Security Details in a letter, email, secure message or any other correspondence, and never store your Security Details on a computer.
- Never enter your Security Details on a web page unless you are sure it is our website. DO NOT follow a link from an email asking you to login or update your Security Details. We will never email you asking for any of your Security Details. We will never embed a link to our Online Services login page, within an email we send to you.
- Never enter your full password on a web page or provide your full password over the phone. We will only ever ask for random characters from your password, we will never ask you for your full password.
- Always check the last logged in date and time and your image before you enter your passwords to login to Online Services.
- Never leave your computer unattended whilst you are logged into Online Services and never let someone watch you enter your Security Details.
- Always log out of Online Services when you have finished, this will completely close your connection to the service.
- Make sure that you have appropriate software protecting access to your computer, and make sure that you keep it up-to-date.
- Keep us informed of any changes to your personal details, for example if you move house or change email address.
- Make sure you change your password regularly. When choosing your password avoid obvious things such as your date of birth, name or phone number and try and use a mixture of letters and numbers.
