Maintenance updates
We’re giving our system a bit of a checkup on 20 July from 11.30pm. While we do that, our Online Services, password set-up service and savings account opening won’t be available.

It’ll probably take a few hours - thanks for being patient. We’ll get things up and running as quickly as we can.

Community activity 2019

Find out what we’ve done for your local communities recently and more about our plans for this year.

Making a difference to our local communities is something we are passionate about at Coventry Building Society.  We work with charities, community groups and schools to address issues that really matter to our people and the communities where they and our members live and work.

In 2018, we raised over £260,000, and volunteered over 8,000 hours of time, working with 263 different organisations, and over 2,400 students across 94 schools.

We’re particularly proud of the impact we’ve had through our work with schools. Children and young people are our future members and colleagues and we have developed a range of support to help build confidence in reading and maths, to help them understand the importance of managing their money, and to prepare them for going into the workplace for the first time.

Our Employability Programme, now in its fourth year, has gone from strength to strength, and in 2018 involved over 140 students from 10 schools attending 12 sessions covering everything from preparing a CV to how to deliver an effective presentation.

To date, 420 students have been through the programme, with 95% saying they felt that their chances of gaining employment had increased as a result.

“I never imagined how much I’d grow on this programme. Learning about the importance of transferable skills and increasing confidence has shaped my present me and future me.” (Foxford School student)

“The programme has allowed me to be willing to step out of my comfort zone, helping me to grow and continuously improve to be the best version of myself. (Nicholas Chamberlaine student)

We were delighted to be awarded the prestigious Education Partnership Award by Business in the Community which recognised the value of our work to the young people taking part, but also our volunteers, who’ve been able to use their involvement to develop skills to take back into the workplace.

In 2019, we’ll continue to work with our communities, using the skills and passion of our people to make a real difference.  We’ve already trialled a new schools session encouraging young people, and girls in particular to consider a career in IT - this was a great success and our IT team are keen to host more sessions demonstrating the range of opportunities available.
