Setting up a nominated account
When you opened your account with us, you might have been asked to set up a ‘nominated bank account’ – this is the main destination for any withdrawals you make, or to pay interest to.
Your nominated bank account must be a UK-based account in your name.
For some of our accounts, you’ll have to set up a nominated bank account. And for some accounts, it’s optional.
If you want to change your nominated account, you can send us a secure message via Online Services. Or call us on 0800 121 8899 and have your security details to hand.
your Coventry account as a nominated account
If your bank or building society has asked you to set up a nominated bank account to pay in from and withdraw to, you need to give these details:
- The last eight digits of your Coventry account number
- Sort code 40-63-88
Some banks are now operating their savings accounts as 'closed loop' - customers use one nominated account for all payments and withdrawals. This 'closed loop' is designed to help prevent financial crime.
It's important that the nominated account uses identical sort codes for money in and money out. At the Coventry our money usually comes into sort code 40-63-01 and money goes out from sort code 40-63-88. However, if we need to, we can take payments into 40-63-88. The money still ends up in your account as normal.
