Coventry Building Society and Macmillan Cancer Support would like to thank members for voting in their thousands at the AGM, and choosing Macmillan as our 2008 Charity of the Year.

One in three of us will get cancer and the support Macmillan provide is invaluable to sufferers and their families. As treatments improve, more and more people are living with cancer in their daily lives. This means they need more than medical help, they also need practical, emotional and financial support. This is where Macmillan step in.

For every vote received the Society pledged to donate 10p - an initial donation of £7,321 has therefore got this year's fundraising off to a good start and with your support, we are hoping to raise much more before the year is out.
