Cookies
Cookies are small program files that typically store information on your PC about your visit to a site. Because we use cookies to provide some of the background security for this site you must allow your browser and antivirus or firewall software to accept cookies from www.coventrybuildingsociety.co.uk if you wish to login to our online intermediary service.
You can check whether your browser has cookies switched on by using the browser check.
If you do not have cookies enabled on your browser please visit your browser Help option which is usually displayed in the bar at the top of your screen or contact your System Administrator.
Javascript
Javascript (sometimes called active scripting) is a way of programming a website page. We use javascript throughout our website to make it easier for you to enter information and for us to display the correct answer back to you.
You can check whether your browser supports javascript by using the browser check.
If you do not have javascript enabled on your browser please visit your browser Help option which is usually displayed in the bar at the top of your screen or contact your System Administrator.
Antivirus software and firewalls
It is absolutely essential that you protect your PC with suitable antivirus software and a firewall as both of these will help to prevent unauthorised access to your PC and the information on it. You may find that the browser you use provides these services as standard. You should install any security updates (patches) that your supplier recommends. Alternatively please contact your System Administrator.
Pop-up blockers
A pop-up blocker will prevent any pages that appear on a website in a new window or 'pop-up' from appearing. These new pages usually appear on top of the page you are viewing. We use pop-ups to take you to our application forms and calculators.
Most browser and firewall software will allow you to choose which pop-ups you see, for example you can choose to block all pop-ups from all sites or allow pop-ups from selected sites only.
To get the most out of our site you should set your firewall and browser to allow pop-ups from www.coventrybuildingsociety.co.uk. Alternatively you can view a blocked pop-up in most software by holding down the Ctrl key as you click on the link.
Printing application forms
You will need to have Adobe Acrobat to print out key documents on this site. You can download Adobe free from www.adobe.com.
Changing the display size of your screen
We have designed this site to display within a 600 x 800 screen resolution as we've found that the majority of our visitors have this as their default set-up. If you would like to increase the display of our site or just the size of the text on the screen please visit your browser Help option which is usually displayed in the bar at the top of your screen.
Alternatively clicking F11 on most standard keyboards will have the same effect.
