User guide
We've designed our online intermediary service to make it as simple and fast as possible for you to meet the needs of your clients.
Our approach is based on three key stages to a successful mortgage sale
- Product selection and Key Facts Illustration
- Agreement In Principle based on policy check and credit check
- Application submission
Each key stage flows into the next so that you don't have to re-enter your client's details each time. You can start the process at any stage, and you can stop and re-start at any time, retrieving your case details whenever it's convenient for you.

Product selection and KFI
You can produce a fully compliant KFI for any of the products offered by Coventry Building Society or Godiva Mortgages.
Our KFI system has in-built product filtering to help you identify those products that best meet the needs of your client. Our automatic cascade systems mean that you are certain to be presented with a choice of products for your client, from either the Coventry Building Society range or from the Godiva range.
You can split your client's mortgage loan between payment type and mix products or add an additional element to the main loan, for example to fund home improvements. If the product also has an unsecured loan element the KFI will only cover the secured mortgage and not the loan. It is therefore important that you don't include the personal loan in the mortgage amounts you are illustrating.
You can retrieve the KFI's you've created for your client at any time resuming the case or going back and amending the details to produce a new KFI.
Agreement In Principle (none equity release cases)
Our AIP system is split into two stages, first we'll check your client's details against our Lending Policy and provided policy is met, we'll then carry out a full online credit history check using third party credit scoring data.
Not only will you know immediately on screen if we can lend based on your clients details, you'll also be able to print out a mortgage certificate to provide to your client, confirming our decision.
And with our automatic cascade systems running in the background you are certain to be presented with a choice of products for your client, from either the Coventry Building Society range or from the Godiva range.
You can retrieve the AIP's you create for your client at any time resuming the case or going back and amending the details to re-submit an amended request.
You can also move straight through from the AIP stage to application submission without having to re-enter your client's details.
Application
You can submit an application to us directly using our online service. If you've already gone through an online AIP for your case you won't have to re-enter all of your client's details.
By submitting your application online you'll benefit from a faster underwriting service and quicker turnaround to offer stage. The application also makes use of many automatic checking features such as address validation using PAF and bank account validation, to help you complete the forms quickly and accurately.
You can save your client's application at any stage and return to it later, resuming it using the 'Retrieve case' service.
And if you need to re-submit an amended application for your client you can retrieve an existing application, copy it and just change the relevant details.
Retrieve case
You can stop, save and resume your client's case at any stage, whether for a Coventry or Godiva mortgage using the 'Retrieve case' service. All you'll need to retrieve case is your client's name or the case ID. You'll then be able to review the actions so far, and move the case onto the next stage without having to re-type all of your client's details.
Case tracking
Our Case tracking service will keep you up to date with the progress of your client's case through underwriting. Live updates are available at each stage from initial assessment through to completion.
Fee payments
If we pay your proc fees by BACS, you can review your payment statements online. We'll also send you an email reminder each time a payment is credited to your bank account.
